Leadership 100 Supports Church Camps For Fourth Year
Leadership 100 awarded the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries Camping Ministry program $270,000 for the fourth consecutive year. Grants of $30,000 were distributed to the Direct Archdiocesan District and to each Metropolis. The primary purpose of the grant is to enable Greek Orthodox youth who do not have the financial means to participate in a summer camp program. Some funding may also be applied to programming, supplies, transportation, youth protection training and background checks of staff members. The program was once again in full swing across the country in the summer of 2014, making it possible for numerous young people to attend camp programs.

National Leadership 100 Sunday To Be Observed For Sixth Year
His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Church of America issued an Encyclical on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod designating October 26, 2014 as the sixth observance of National Leadership 100 Sunday. This year’s celebration, which is the Sunday following the Feast of Saint Iakovos in honor of the Founder of Leadership 100, coincides with the Feast of Saint Demetrios. The occasion will also conclude the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Leadership 100.

HANAC To Honor Peter Vlachos As "Man Of The Year" At Gala
Peter A. Vlachos, an innovator and leader for more than 50 years in the financial industry and long-time member of Leadership 100 who has served on its Board of Trustees and chaired its Investment Committee for almost two decades, will be honored as HANAC’S “Man of the Year” at HANAC’S GALA 2014 on October 24, 2014, at The Mandarin Oriental in New York City.

Arthur C. Anton, Sr. Honored for Philanthropy
Arthur C. Anton, Sr., a Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Leadership 100, was honored at Celebrate Giving!, an event of the Greater Lowell Community Foundation, at the Westford Inn & Conference Center in Westford, MA on September 18, 2014.
Anton was cited as an outstanding local business leader and philanthropist, with “a distinguished lifelong commitment to family, faith and community.” He was praised for his leadership as a former board member of the Lowell General Hospital, as past trustee of Boston University, his commitment to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell, the International Institute, and Goodwill Industries, among many other area nonprofits. His devotion to the Greek Orthodox Church and support of its mission was also cited.

Pastoral Care Forums Held At Clergy-Laity Congress
Leadership 100 has supported the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Center for Family Care with $866,660 in grants for a variety of ministries through 2014. The Center for Family Care is part of the Department of Marriage and Family which has received $581,330 directly in grants, bringing the total to $1,447, 990.
A recent activity of the Pastoral Care Ministry of the Center, at the 42nd Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress in Philadelphia on July 8, 2014, was the presentation of two forums, “Stress and Resilience in the Family” and “Family and Faith: Building Generations of Faith.” The sessions dealt with compelling topics the Orthodox Church faces in contemporary society, through a combination of individual presentations from distinguished panel members and audience interaction.
