John Catsimatidis And George Stephanopoulos To Be Commemorated On Greek Postage Stamps

Business leader John Catsimatidis, a member of the Leadership 100 Executive Committee, and ABC Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos, a member of Leadership 100, are among five Greek Americans who will be honored with their likenesses on Greek postage stamps. The others are actress and producer Rita Wilson, physician and Outer Space educator Peter Diamandis and producer/director Costa-Gavras.

All five are also recipients of the International Foundation of Greece awards, presented every three years at the Acropolis Museum in Athens. Catisimatidis, who owns several businesses including Gristedes supermarket chain and Red Apple Group and who ran for Mayor of New York City, received the Entrepreneurship Award. Stephanopoulos, also well known as an advisor in the President Bill Clinton Administration, received the Media Award. Wilson received the Film and Theatre Award while Diamandis received the Science Award. Costa-Gavras received the Arts and Letters Award.
