New Foundation Formed
A new foundation has been established by Charles H. Cotros, Leadership 100 Executive Committee member, Thomas L. Demakes, Leadership 100 member and Harry J. Pappas of Houston, Texas, to raise and invest funds on behalf of Hellenic College and Holy Cross School of Theology.
“The Hellenic College and Holy Cross Foundation for Faith and Learning” was initiated by Cotros, Demakes and Pappas with commitments of $1 million each. They will serve on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
“A strong financial backing is essential to meeting the ever-expanding need for priests to serve our Archdiocese and our Metropolises,” according to the Rev. Nicholas C. Triantafilou, the school’s president and also a member of Leadership 100.
Cotros, of Memphis Tennessee, is the former Chairman and CEO of SYSCO Co. Demakes, of Swampscott, Massachusetts, is the CEO and owner of DBA Old Neighborhood Foods. Pappas is President of Pappas Restaurants, Inc. and COO of Luby’s Inc.
