Executive Committee and Board of Trustees Meet, Membership Event Held

The Leadership 100 Executive Committee and Board of Trustees met on Thursday, November 8th and Friday, November  9th,  2018, respectively, at The Princeton Club of New York, presided over for the first time by Argyris Vassiliou as Chairman. On Thursday evening, A Membership Event was held at the Metropolitan Club at which 70 members and potential members gathered.

Vassiliou reported to both the Executive Committee and Board that Leadership 100 continues to grow in membership and financial assets, as well as in recognition in our community and society. To date, membership stands at 1,088, with 643 members fulfilled, and has raised $1,401,000 in membership contributions (cash basis) this year, as of September 30, 2018 .The investment portfolio has a value of $89,963,570, also as of September 30, 2018, with total assets at $102,252,000. Grants distributed since the founding of Leadership 100 in 1984 reached $51,044,495, with $2,986,163 distributed for 2018. Further, he reported that the 28th Annual Conference in February of 2019 will mark the 35th Anniversary of Leadership 100.

Vassiliou welcomed newly-elected members of both the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, whom he called all exceptional and highly skilled members: James Pantelidis, Direct Archdiocesan District, on the Executive Committee and Lazaros (Louis) Kircos, Metropolis of Detroit, and John G. Manos, Metropolis of Chicago, on the  Board of Trustees.

Reports were submitted by the Treasurer, Thomas G. Jordan, the Executive Director, Paulette Poulos, the Chairman of the Membership Committee, Ted Zampetis, the Chairman of the Investment Committee, Peter Vlachos, the Chairman of the Audit Committee, Jim Logothetis, the Chairman of the Grant Committee, John Sitilides,  and the Chairman of the Event Planning Committee, Mike Manatos.

Vassiliou expressed gratitude to His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios for his spiritual leadership and guidance. Next year, he said,  when we celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Leadership 100, “we will acknowledge the valuable support of His Eminence for 20 of those years.”

The Membership Event was attended by new and potential members of Leadership 100, along with Board and regular members. Some 6 new members joined. New members  for 2018 totaled 30 as of November 30, 2018. The event was addressed by Vassilou, Chairman Emeritus John Payiavlas,  Treasurer Thomas G. Jordan, Membership Chairman Ted Zampetis and Executive Director Paulette Poulos.
