Peter J. Pappas Honored
Peter J. Pappas, long-time member of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees and Chairman of P.J. Companies, was honored in May by The Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his philanthropy and support of Greek and Cypriot causes, the Greek Orthodox Church in American and the Greek and Cypriot American community.
Besides heading P. J. Companies, which consists of P.J. Mechanical Corp., Delta Sheet Metal Corp. and Expert Insulation, Pappas is a real estate developer in New York City, Palm Beach, Florida, Ohio and Sacramento, California. He began his career while attending New York University. Through his various companies he is responsible for renovations on many of New York’s signature buildings, including the Chrysler Building, the GM Building. Park Avenue Atrium, Citicorp Building, the Time Warner Center, and two new stadiums, Citifield and Yankee Stadium.
A native of New York, he is married to Catherine Pappas, also a member of Leadership 100, and is the father of three children and nine grandchildren. Besides his board membership at Leadership 100, he is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and a member of the Archdiocesan National Council. He is past Chairman of the Cyprus Children’s Fund for which he was awarded the Honorary Gold Medal of the Republic of Cyprus.
