Fostering Fellowship and Purpose: The Young Adult League (YAL)
The need for community does not end with college. Beyond the university years, young professionals face the exciting, yet often isolating, task of building their adult lives. Careers, relationships, marriage, family, and other responsibilities can make it increasingly difficult to find meaningful community within the Church.
The revitalization of the National Young Adult League (YAL) Movement is helping answer that need by creating vibrant spaces for Orthodox men and women in their twenties and thirties to gather, grow, worship, and serve together.
With funding from the National YAL Ministry Grant, as well as support for regional conferences across various Metropolises, Leadership 100 helps YAL develop programming centered around four essential pillars: Faith, Fellowship, Worship, and Service.
Through national conferences, regional gatherings, parish-based groups, retreats, and service opportunities, young adults can build friendships and relationships with peers who share their Orthodox faith and life experiences. These connections provide encouragement as young adults navigate career, family, and faith during another important stage of life.
Just as OCF helps college students discover that they have a place within the Church, YAL helps young professionals continue that journey strengthening their connection to Orthodoxy and one another as they build their adult lives.

Cultivating Tomorrow’s Leaders: The Young Adult Internship Program
Under the direction of the Office of the Chancellor, His Grace Bishop Nektarios of Diokleia, doors were opened for professional development and leadership within the Church itself.
Through the Archdiocesan Young Adult Summer Internship Program, Leadership 100 supports hands-on opportunities for college students and recent graduates to work alongside Church leadership, administrative offices, and national ministries.
Interns gain professional experience in areas ranging from communications and information technology to ministry administration and religious education. More importantly, they gain a firsthand understanding of the work required to strengthen and serve the Greek Orthodox Church.
These experiences help young adults see that their professional talents can also be a form of service. Today’s interns can become tomorrow’s parish leaders, educators, ministry volunteers, board members, philanthropists, and advocates for the Church.
An Investment in the Church of Tomorrow
Together, OCF, YAL, and the Young Adult Internship Program demonstrate the breadth of Leadership 100’s investment in the next generation.
The goal is not simply to fund a retreat, a conference, a campus missionary, or an internship. It is to create pathways to belonging, faith, service, and leadership.
When a young person finds an Orthodox community on campus, develops a deeper relationship with the Church, serves others, builds lifelong friendships, or discovers how their professional talents can be used in service, the impact can extend far beyond a single program.
A single grant can help reach hundreds of young adults. Those young adults can go on to strengthen families, parishes, ministries, and communities for generations.
That is the multiplier effect of philanthropy.
By investing in campus outreach, young adult networks, fellowship and service opportunities, and professional development, Leadership 100 is investing not simply in programs, but in people.
And those people are the future of the Greek Orthodox Church in America.
Through the generosity of Leadership 100 members, young Orthodox Christians are being given the opportunity to find community, strengthen their faith, discover their purpose, and prepare to lead.
