Celebrating our Nation’s 250th Anniversary

The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Fund commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States of America with the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

We join all Americans in marking two and a half centuries of American independence, fortitude, and dedication to equality, and the ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We are privileged as Greek Orthodox Americans to acknowledge the dual blessings of our American and Hellenic Heritage at this historic celebration, mindful of the gift to the world by Ancient Greece of democratic government and the achievement of Greek Independence in 1821.

Tied together by acknowledgment of our Creator as the source of our inalienable rights, our equality, freedom, and our faith, we convey our commitments to our Nation, our Heritage, and our Church.
