Alexis Christoforous

Alexis Christoforous is a New York-based anchor and correspondent for ABC News. An award-winning-journalist, she focuses primarily on business and consumer news, reporting across the ABC News platform including for Good Morning America, World News Tonight, GMA3, ABC News Live, ABC Radio Network, and over 200 ABC affiliate TV stations nationwide.

 Christoforous is the creator and host of GMA3’s award-winning series, Trailblazing Women, highlighting diverse game changing women. She is also the creator and host of “Ask Alexis,” a weekly segment on ABC News Live in which Christoforous answers viewers' personal finance questions. 

 Christoforous is a fill-in anchor for ABC News Live, ABC’s award-winning 24/7 streaming news channel; she also writes business related articles for abcnews.com. 

 Christoforous has covered major business news events including The World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholder meeting, the Madoff scandal, the 9/11 attacks, the collapse of Lehman Brothers, The Great Recession, the internet bubble and burst, the housing bubble, and the crypto craze.

 Christoforous has conducted news making interviews with some of the biggest names in business and politics including Mary Barra, Marc Benioff, Michael Bloomberg, Richard Branson, Warren Buffett, Hillary Clinton, Mark Cuban, Jack Dorsey, Arianna Huffington, Sheryl Sandberg, Donald Trump, and Meg Whitman. In addition to her business reporting, Christoforous has also interviewed many top celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Tony Bennett, Matt Damon, Madonna, Sara Jessica Parker, and Ringo Starr.

 Prior to ABC News, Christoforous was an anchor and correspondent for Yahoo Finance where she hosted a daily two hour show interviewing market movers, business leaders and CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. She was also creator and host of the weekly podcast “Electionomics.”

 Before Yahoo Finance, Christoforous spent 15 years at CBS News as an anchor and correspondent, reporting for all shows including The CBS Evening News, CBS This Morning and CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood. Christoforous also anchored the network news programs CBS Morning News and CBS Up to the Minute and was anchor and managing editor of the nationally syndicated program CBS MarketWatch Weekend.

 Christoforous began her business news career at Bloomberg Television and Radio where she helped launch Bloomberg Television. She also anchored the national PBS program “Bloomberg Morning News” and was Bloomberg's first correspondent to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. 

 A native New Yorker, Christoforous is a graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and is an advocate of arts in education. She graduated cum laude from New York University with a BA in Broadcast Journalism and has served as an adjunct professor at NYU. She resides in Manhattan with her husband and their three children.
