Leadership 100 Hosts Farewell Dinner for Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkon, Congratulates Archbishop Elpidophoros on Sixth Anniversary of Enthronement

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America hosted a Farewell Dinner for His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkon on Monday, May 12, 2025. The dinner, sponsored by Leadership 100, was held at the Metropolitan Club in New York City and offered the opportunity for members of Leadership 100 to greet the visiting Hierarch.

 As May 11th was the sixth anniversary of the election of Archbishop Elpidophoros, an anniversary cake was presented and Metropolitan Apostolos, joined by Leadership 100 Chairman Emeritus Argyros Vassiliou, Vice Chairman Michael N. Bapis, and Executive Director Paulette Poulos, congratulated His Eminence.

 In his remarks, Archbishop Elpidophoros spoke about the dedication to the Church of the members of Leadership 100 saying, “Your Eminence: tonight, both the leadership and members of the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Fund have gathered to honor you with this marvelous dinner. These faithful souls have provided both resources and ideas for the work of the Archdiocese in America and are among the most dedicated members of the Church. Their devotion to the Mother Church of Constantinople is unwavering, and their commitment to the success of this First Eparchy of the Ecumenical Throne in the New World is unyielding. They have labored in unity of heart and mind for over forty years to create an endowment that sustains the ministries and initiatives of the Archdiocese. Their support for Holy Cross Seminary and Hellenic College has been the sine qua non of their progress. Leadership 100 is truly a fountain of blessings for the Church that flows with generosity and discretion.”
