Julie And Nick Sakellariadis Receive Medal Of St. Paul

Archbishop Demetrios bestows Medal of St. Paul upon Julie and Nick Sakellariadis.

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios bestowed the Medal of St. Paul, the highest honor given by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, upon Julie and Nick Sakellariadis, who for more than three decades have quietly and effectively offered support to the Archdiocese along with Annunciation Church in New York City and many other Orthodox institutions. They are both longtime members of Leadership 100.   

The ceremony took place on October 1, 2017 at the celebration of the 125th Anniversary of Annunciation Church, which served the earliest Greek Community in New York in the 19th Century. The Very Rev. Fr. Chrysostomos Gilbert, Pastor, presided.

Remarks were offered by George S. Tsandikos, Chairman of Leadership 100 and President of the Archdiocesan Council, who stated: “We honor Julie and Nick as exemplars of true Christian philanthropy and for their love of humankind. We thank them, and we thank Annunciation for reminding us of our history and for inspiring us to continue to serve the Church in America.” Other speakers included Maria Logos, President of the National Philoptochos Society, Peter Vlachos. A member of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees and a longtime ardent supporter of Annunciation Church and a friend of the Sakellariadis couple, and Paulette Poulos ,Executive Director of Leadership 100.
