National Leadership 100 Sunday Observed for Sixteenth Year

National Leadership 100 Sunday was celebrated across the nation for the sixteenth consecutive year on Sunday, October 27, 2024, the closest Sunday to the Feast Day of St. Iakovos, in honor of the Founder of Leadership 100, Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory.

Parish priests read the Encyclical issued by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod at the Divine Liturgy. Materials were distributed, which outlined the support provided by Leadership 100 for the National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, as well as for ministries in every Metropolis.

Demetrios G. Logothetis, Chairman of Leadership 100, who spoke at Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church in Lincolnshire, Illinois, stated “We were pleased that parishes from coast to coast once again participated in acknowledging the support of Leadership 100 for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese on National Leadership 100 Sunday, as we conclude the 40th Anniversary of our founding. The annual observance is a testimony to this commitment, true to the legacy of our Founder, Archbishop Iakovos.”

Leadership 100 has 1,332 members from a broad spectrum of Greek Orthodox leaders, men and women of all ages from every field of endeavor. Since its founding, Leadership 100 has distributed more than $77 million in grants to the National Ministries and Institutions of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, including the only Greek Orthodox Theological School in the United States, Holy Cross, as well as to Metropolis Ministries and humanitarian needs in the nation and around the world.

Executive Director Paulette Poulos, together with members of Leadership 100, joined V. Rev. Archimandrite Chrysostomos Gilbert, Dean of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City, in a celebration for National Leadership 100 Sunday.
