New York City And Houston Events Bring In New Members

Leadership 100 organized membership events in New York in New York City on September 25 and in Houston, Texas on November 7 that together brought new membership for 2012 to 34, representing the Direct Archdiocesan District and the eight Metropolises. Total membership increased to 895. The events included remarks from Charles H. Cotros, Chairman, who outlined the 28 year-long mission of Leadership 100 in support of the National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and the more than $33 million distributed in grants.

In New York, Leadership 100 Founder Arthur C. Anton, Chairman Emeritus Stephen G. Yeonas, Executive Committee and Board of Trustees member, Peter J. Pappas, also addressed the gathering. Fr. Luke Meleckrinos, Dean of St. Paul Cathedral, Hempstead, New York, a special guest, related his own experiences to the group in having benefited from the Leadership 100 Scholarship Program.

In Houston, the event was sponsored by Board member, Christopher Pappas, and his wife, Maria, Marian and Spyros Catechis, and Cynthia Kostas.

Paulette Poulos, Executive Director, in summing up the evening at both events, expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees for their involvement in the new drive to recruit members. She said that other events are planned in Chicago and Boston and that the goal was to reach 900 members by the 2013 Annual Conference and a milestone of 1,000 members by the 30th Anniversary of Leadership 100 in 2014.
