Leadership 100 held a recruitment dinner on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Morton’s Steak House in Troy, Michigan, hosted by Ted and Ann Zampetis, and emceed by Lou Kircos, who spoke as a member of the Audit Committee about the transparency of the organization. Zampetis, Chairman of the Membership Committee, spoke about Leadership 100 and how he was brought in by Chairman Emeritus John Payiavlas.

Zampetis enrolled his twin granddaughters as Junior Partners, Eleanna Zampetis Budman and Sofia Zampetis Budman, which totals seven family members brought into Leadership 100 by Zampetis. Paulette Poulos, Executive Director of Leadership 100, thanked Zampetis for hosting the event and enrolling his family members and introduced his two granddaughters, who handed her their applications and checks for $10,000 each. As Junior Partners they have the option of continuing payments at 21 years of age towards becoming fulfilled members. Paulette told the new, young members that “to whom much is given, much is expected,” and that Eleanna and Sofia have been blessed with a wonderful family which has paved the way for them to follow. Earlier, she spoke of Leadership 100 grants that support the National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, including support of scholarships at Holy Cross School of Theology and seed money provided to initiate International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) and the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC).

Other members joining Leadership 100 included AHEPA Omega Chapter 371, Dr. Gerald J. and Pauline Biernacki and George and Nitsa Mortis. John Hatzis, President of the AHEPA Chapter, presented an enlarged poster check in posing for a photograph.

Fr. Michael Manos of Troy, Michigan and Fr. Eleftherios Legakis of Toledo, Ohio spoke on how Leadership 100 scholarships enabled them to attend seminary and become priests.

In closing, Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit spoke about Leadership 100 as a silent partner to the Church, providing support without drawing attention to itself.
