Metropolis Initiates Wellness Ministries
In 2007-2008 the Metropolis of San Francisco initiated a Family Wellness Ministry with the help of a two-part grant of $200,000 from Leadership 100. The purpose was to address the spiritual, emotional and psychological health and wellness of its clergy and faithful through a focused effort led by dedicated clergy, staff and volunteers.
Orthodox Prison Ministry Transforms Lives
Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM) ministers to people in prison, their families, and those who have been released from prison, responding to the Lord’s call, “I was in prison and you visited Me.” (Matthew 25:36). OCPM is an agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America, the official Orthodox prison ministry in the country.
Center For Family Care Launches Webinar
Leader 100 has supported the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Center for Family Care with $866,660 in grants for a variety of ministries through 2014. The Center for Family Care is part of the Department of Marriage and Family which has received $581,330 in grants, bringing the total to $1,447, 990. A recent grant underwrote the launching earlier this year of a monthly webinar series of online workshops for families and parish ministry workers.
New Textbooks for Religious Education
Leadership 100 has awarded a grant of $80,000 in 2014 to the Department of Religious Education of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to publish a new textbook and teacher’s guide for Grade 4, following an earlier grant of $81,759 in 2012 to publish a new textbook for Grade 5, both part of a new textbook series titled, “Living Our Orthodox Faith.”
