Aphrodite Skeadas Honored At the Chrysanthemum Ball
Aphrodite G. Skeadas, a member of Leadership 100, was honored by the Archdiocesan Cathedral Philoptochos Society for her successful leadership of the 27,000-member Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society for three terms, from 2008 to 2014, at the festive annual Chrysanthemum Ball on November 7, 2014.
IOCC Names Mark Stavropoulos Board Chairman
Mark D. Stavropoulos of Troy, Michigan, a long-time member of Leadership 100 who served for many years on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and as Chairman of the Grant Committee, was named as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC). He had served for many years on the IOCC Board and as Treasurer.
Saint Nicholas National Shrine to be Built Following Ground Blessing Ceremony
A Ground Blessing ceremony for the Saint Nicholas National Shrine at the World Trade Center took place on October 18, 2014 at its site on Liberty Street, overlooking the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. As the only house of worship destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the church is set to be rebuilt as a shrine by the end of 2016. Some 2,500 persons were in attendance.
Leadership 100 Sunday Observed Across Nation
National Leadership 100 Sunday was observed in more than 500 parishes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese on October 26, 2014, the sixth consecutive celebration. This year’s event, which followed the Feast of Saint Iakovos in honor of the Founder of Leadership 100, coincided with the Feast of Saint Demetrios. It also marked the year-long celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Leadership 100.

Leadership 100 Supports Church Camps For Fourth Year
Leadership 100 awarded the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries Camping Ministry program $270,000 for the fourth consecutive year. Grants of $30,000 were distributed to the Direct Archdiocesan District and to each Metropolis.

Leadership 100 has supported the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Center for Family Care with $866,660 in grants for a variety of ministries through 2014. The Center for Family Care is part of the Department of Marriage and Family which has received $581,330 directly in grants, bringing the total to $1,447, 990.
Leadership 100 Donates $1 Million For Building Of St. Nicholas National Shrine
The Executive Committee of Leadership 100, meeting on Friday, June 20, 2014, unanimously approved a special gift of $1 million toward the rebuilding of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, to be designated as the St. Nicholas National Shrine, according to George Tsandikos, Chairman. In addition, the Executive Committee approved an appeal to Leadership 100 members to make individual gifts.
Emerging Leaders Ministry
Leadership 100 provided a two-year grant of $200,000 to launch The Emerging Leaders Ministry in the Metropolis of Boston as a pilot program to serve as a prototype for replication throughout the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America with the purpose of addressing the critical need to engage contemporary professionals in the life of the Church.
Ecumenical Enhancement Project
Leadership 100 has supported The Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in recent years with two major grants. A two-year grant of $180,000 for the Ecumenical Enhancement Project over 2013-2014 and a one-year grant of $150,000 for the Church-World Initiative in March of 2014.
GOTelecom Series Exceeds 100,000 Views
Discovering Orthodox Christianity, the 26-part series of talk shows and Bible Studies produced by Greek Orthodox Telecommunications, (GOTelecom) and designed to educate viewers about the basic teachings of Orthodox Christianity, has exceeded 100,000 views, an average of 12,500 online views per month, in just eight months since its debut in November of 2013.
Metropolis Initiates Wellness Ministries
In 2007-2008 the Metropolis of San Francisco initiated a Family Wellness Ministry with the help of a two-part grant of $200,000 from Leadership 100. The purpose was to address the spiritual, emotional and psychological health and wellness of its clergy and faithful through a focused effort led by dedicated clergy, staff and volunteers.
Orthodox Prison Ministry Transforms Lives
Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM) ministers to people in prison, their families, and those who have been released from prison, responding to the Lord’s call, “I was in prison and you visited Me.” (Matthew 25:36). OCPM is an agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America, the official Orthodox prison ministry in the country.
