Forum On Hellenism To Feature Benaki Museum Presentation And Exhibits
The Hellenism Forum on Thursday, February 18, 2016 will feature a presentation by Pavlos Yeroulanos, Greece’s former Minister for Culture and Tourism, along with exhibits from the Benaki Museum of Athens. Yeroulanos is the great-grandson of the museum’s founder, Antonis Benakis. The Benaki Museum exhibits, mounted at the Museum’s expense prior to a United States tour, will comprise 40-50 exact replicas from the museum illustrating Greek art from the pre-historic to the contemporary period, a replica of the notable St. Nicholas Icon, and the original album of photographs from the first modern Olympic Games held in Athens in 1896. The Exhibits will open with an Agiasmos (blessing) by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America.

Eleni Tsakopoulos Kounalakis, a longtime member of Leadership 100, will address the Saturday Forum on February 20, 2016, on the subject of her recently published memoir, Madame Ambassador: Three Years of Diplomacy, Dinner Parties, and Democracy in Budapest. She served as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary from January 7, 2010 to July 20, 2013.
Archbishop Demetrios of America Receives the High Title of "Geron"
His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, elevated the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to the rank of Gerontiki Eparchy (meaning an eparchy headed by a Geron/Elder hierarch) of the Ecumenical Throne in the person of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America, who from now on will be called His Eminence Geron Archbishop Demetrios of America.

The Hellenic Medical Society of New York honored Michael Jaharis, a Founder of Leadership 100, a pioneer in the pharmaceutical industry and a philanthropist, with the Distinguished Hellene Award at its 79th Annual Scholarship Gala at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan on December 4, 2015. Mary Jaharis, a long-time member of Leadership 100, accepted the award on behalf of her husband.
University of Athens Awards Honorary Doctorate To George D. Behrakis
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens awarded an honorary doctorate from its Medical Faculty to George D. Behrakis, Chairman Emeritus of Leadership 100, for his contributions to science, pharmaceuticals and medicine, and for his humanitarian endeavors, on December 11, 2015.
Michigan Parish Joins Leadership 100 Third From Detroit Metropolis in Fall
Three new memberships from the Metropolis of Detroit were added to Leadership 100 in the fall of 2015 with the decision of St. George Church, Southgate, Michigan to join at its Parish General Assembly on November 15. The total membership is now 980 , close to the goal of 1,000 members by the Annual Conference in February of 2016, according to Theodore K. Zampetis, Leadership 100 Membership Committee Chairman.

Symphony At Sunset Planned For Annual Conference
Leadership 100 will present Symphony at Sunset on February 18, 2016 at the 25th Annual Leadership 100 Conference at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona, through the generosity of Leadership 100 members, Michael and Kay Johnson. The Phoenix Symphony will be conducted by Peter Tiboris, Founder, General Director and Artistic Director of MidAmerica Productions and Festival of the Aegean, featuring Steven Moeckel, violin and Eilana Lappalainen, soprano, and with a special performance by Theodosia Roussos, soprano and folk artist.
National Leadership 100 Sunday Observed In Parishes Across Country
National Leadership 100 Sunday was observed in parishes across the country on October 25, 2015 with the reading of an Encyclical issued by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod. It was the seventh observance, designated to be the Sunday nearest the Feast of Saint Iakovos in honor of the Founder of Leadership 100, Archbishop Iakovos. This year, it also fell one day prior to the Feast of Saint Demetrios.
Leadership 100 Supports Church Camps For Fifth Year
Leadership 100 awarded the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries Camping Ministry program $270,000 for the fifth consecutive year. Grants of $30,000 were distributed to the Direct Archdiocesan District and to each Metropolis.

His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew traveled to the Aegean Island of Chios from September 11-14, 2015 at the invitation of His Eminence Metropolitan Markos of Chios, Psara & Oinouses, and the local authorities. He was formally welcomed at the municipal square by Mayor Manolis Vournous, local government and Church representatives and numerous citizens.

Pioneering Priests Draws Record Numbers
The special exhibition, Pioneering Priests: Establishing the Greek Orthodox Faith in America, funded with a Leadership 100 grant of $8,100, officially opened on Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Saint Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine in Saint Augustine, Florida as part of the Shrine's annual Pilgrimage Weekend festivities. At the opening, the exhibition was blessed by His Grace Bishop Dimitrios of Xanthos. The exhibit has drawn more visitors to the Shrine than any other special exhibit.
Orthodox Community Action Network
Leadership 100 has supported the creation by International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) of a national Orthodox Community Action Network (Orthodox CAN!) to nurture and activate the Orthodox Christian value of philanthropy by promoting volunteerism across all age groups of Orthodox Christians in this country, including support of national Youth Service Leadership-Serve-X-treme!-development gatherings.

As a shrewd businessman with a keen eye for talent, Psaros selected a seasoned professional to undertake this task; MiB Mediaworks founder Mark I. Brodie, an Emmy-winning editor and documentary filmmaker with more than 30 years of experience working for national and international broadcasts, was an obvious choice.
