EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF LEADERSHIP 100 RETURNS TO FULL-TIME PARISH MINISTRY
With the Blessings and Spiritual guidance of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Greek Orthodox Archbishop of America, Fr. Dimitrios Antokas, Executive Director of Leadership 100, submitted his resignation to the Executive Committee today to assume full-time ministry. Fr. Dimitrios said, “I came to this decision after Holy Week where I served the needs of the faithful at St. John the Baptist Church, a small parish in Manhattan.” Leadership 100 is a charitable organization dedication to promote Orthodoxy and Hellenism in America.
During his two-year tenure as Executive Director, Fr. Dimitrios was instrumental in the move of Leadership 100 to its new offices at Olympic Tower, the annual conferences, membership campaigns and the allocation of grants and investments.
Fr. Dimitrios stated, “At this time, I feel that I have to move on. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, the Board of Trustees, staff and all the faithful members of Leadership 100 for allowing me to serve in this capacity and for their love and support. I am looking forward with zeal and enthusiasm to my new position.”
In accepting Fr. Antokas’ decision to return to full-time ministry, Mr. George D. Behrakis, Chairman of Leadership 100 stated: “Fr. Dimitrios brought love and distinction while assisting Leadership 100 in achieving its mission.”
The Executive Committee immediately voted to name Ms. Paulette Poulos as the Interim Executive Director until a search committee is appointed to implement the interview process. Ms. Poulos will continue her duties as Director of Development. She is a lifelong, dedicated individual who has served the Greek Orthodox Church for many years in various capacities, most recently as the Administrator to the late Archbishop Iakovos.
