His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios Geron of America Submission of Resignation

Leadership 100 expresses its deep appreciation for the spiritual leadership and untiring service of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios for the past twenty years, upon the announcement of his resignation. We are forwarding the Archdiocese news release regarding the submission of his written resignation as Archbishop of America.

His Eminence has led our Church and Community with distinction and honor. He has been a unifying and healing presence for our Church and nation, especially during the September 11th attacks in 2001, when he reached out to all the Greek Orthodox families who suffered a loss and offered his paternal love, support and prayers.

We have been a major beneficiary of His Eminence’s wisdom and guidance. His dedicated and inspired involvement was largely responsible for our dramatic increases in membership and the endowment. Archbishop Demetrios has been a true shepherd to his flock and we will be forever grateful.

On behalf of Leadership 100, our members, officers and staff, I convey to His Eminence our heartfelt gratitude for his service and pray for many years of health, happiness and fulfillment in all he pursues.
