Caras New Chairman Emeritus
Constantine G. Caras, the past Chairman of Leadership 100, became Chairman Emeritus, joining the Life-Time Founding Members and Chairmen Emeriti upon the passing of the beloved Andrew A. Athens on March 14, 2013. Athens, a revered Founder of Leadership 100, was Co-Chairman from the inception of the organization in 1984 to 1996.
Andrew A. Athens was the first President of the World Council of Hellenes (SAE) and an Archon Maestor of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He was a distinguished Church, Business and Community leader in Chicago, in the nation and in the world.
Caras, of Greenville, Delaware, holds degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Virginia Law School. A Native of Steubenville, Ohio, he is married to Dr. Maria Michell Caras, a practicing physician. The couple has two daughters, Valerie and Alexandra. Caras was the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of the Ogden Corporation and a member of its Board of Directors. He is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle and serves on its National Council. He also served as President of the Parish Council of the Holy Trinity Church in Wilmington, DE, where, along with his family, he is an active member of the church choir and other parish activities. He is a recipient of the St. Paul Medal.
