Michael Psaros Presented With Award For Excellence
Michael Psaros, a member of Leadership 100 and Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of KPS Capital Partners, LP, and a member of its Investment Committee, was presented with the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Award for Excellence at the Grand Banquet on Saturday, February 14, 2015.
Psaros addressed the Friday Forum on February 13, 2015, as well as Leadership 100 Partners in a special session, on the motivations for his business career in the light of his Orthodox Faith and Hellenic Heritage.
Named 2014 Executive of the Year by The Hellenic American Bankers Association (HABA) on May 1, 2014, Psaros was invested as an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on October 19, 2014. He is a member of the Church of Our Saviour in Rye, New York and All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Weirton, West Virginia.
Psaros is the manager of the KPS Special Situations Funds, a family of private equity limited partnerships with over $6 billion of assets under management focused on making controlling equity investments in companies across a diverse range of manufacturing industries. KPS portfolio companies have aggregate annual revenues of over $8.6 billion, operate 104 manufacturing facilities in 26 countries, and employ approximately 40,000 associates, directly and through joint ventures worldwide.
He received a BSBA from Georgetown University in 1989 and attended Sofia University in Tokyo, Japan. He and his wife, Robin, created The Robin and Michael Psaros Endowed Chair in Business Administration at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, where Mr. Psaros presently serves as Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of Advisors. He also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Georgetown University Center for Financial Markets and Policy.
