National Leadership 100 Sunday Observered For Eleventh Year
National Leadership 100 Sunday was observed across the country for the eleventh year on October 20, 2019. The celebration is held on the Sunday closest to the Feast of Saint Iakovos on October 23, in honor of the Founder of Leadership 100, Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory.
“National Leadership 100 Sunday continues to demonstrate the essential role of Leadership 100 in our Church and Community, consistently providing support for our Archdiocese for the last 35 years,” said Argyris Vassiliou, Chairman of Leadership 100. Theodore K. Zampetis, a member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the National Membership Committee served as National Leadership 100 Sunday Chairman for the eighth consecutive year.
Parish Priests throughout the nation read the Encyclical issued by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoras of America on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod at the Divine Liturgy. Members of Leadership 100 held programs to develop awareness of the support provided by Leadership 100 for the National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and for all the Metropolises.
Today, Leadership 100 counts 1,114 members from a broad spectrum of Greek Orthodox leaders, men and women of all ages from every field of endeavor. Over the last three and a half decades, $53,902,995 million in grants has been disbursed to support the National Ministries and institutions of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, as well as Metropolis Ministries, other programs and projects that advance Orthodoxy and Hellenism, and humanitarian needs in the nation and around the world.
