Mike Manatos Wins DC’s Dancing with the Stars Gala
Mike Manatos, a member of the Leadership 100 Executive Committee, won the DC Dancing with the Stars competition on November 9. Manatos won by raising $85,000 from 251 supporters across the country for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, of which he became Chairman of the Board in September. Mike’s wife, Laura, President of Laura Evans Media, was emcee of the event.

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, meeting for the first time with the Leadership 100 Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, November 7 and 8, 2019 in New York City, inspired both groups with his forthright manner and his vision for the future of the Church. Formally welcomed by Leadership 100 Chairman Argyris Vassiliou, the Archbishop praised Leadership 100 for perpetuating the legacy of Archbishop Iakovos and providing generous support of the Archdiocese for 35 years.
National Leadership 100 Sunday Observered For Eleventh Year
National Leadership 100 Sunday was observed across the country for the eleventh year on October 20, 2019. The celebration is held on the Sunday closest to the Feast of Saint Iakovos on October 23, in honor of the Founder of Leadership 100, Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory.

Tassopoulos began his 40-year career at Chick-fil-A as an hourly restaurant team member and was appointed as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2016. He has served as Director of Field Operations, Vice President of Operations, Senior Vice President of Operations, and, most recently, Executive Vice President of Operations.

Nine of the new Archons are members of Leadership 100.

Bouras Award for Extraordinary Archon Stewardship for his outstanding service to the Orthodox Church as an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople on October 18, 2019 by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and the National Commander of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis. The ceremony at the New York Metropolitan Club was part of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle’s annual three-day assembly, Archon Weekend.

The Tsakopoulos couple and Dr. Korkos were honored for their efforts in promoting Hellenism at the NHS awards gala.

The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (Order of AHEPA), bestowed its highest honor, the Socrates Award, on Michael Psaros, co-founder and managing partner of KPS Capital Partners, LP, and Philip, and a prominent member of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees. The event took place at AHEPA’s 97th Grand Banquet of the Annual Supreme Convention on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Palmer House Hilton, Chicago.
John Zavitsanos named recipient of Nicholas J. Bouras Award for Extraordinary Archon Stewardship
The Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle has announced that John Zavitsanos, Archon Ekdikos, has been nominated to receive the 2019 Nicholas J. Bouras Award for Extraordinary Archon Stewardship. Archon Zavitsanos is a member of the Order's governing body, the National Council, and assumed leadership of the Exarch's Appeal in 2014. A special tribute dinner dance will be held at the Metropolitan Club, Friday evening, October 18, as part of the Order's annual three-day assembly, October 18-20, 2019 in New York City.

The American College of Greece (ACG) announced on July 24, 2019 the appointment of Demetrios (Jim) G. Logothetis as Chair of the Board of Trustees. Logothetis joined the ACG Board in 2014, serving as Vice-Chair prior to his appointment as Chair, effective July 1, 2019.
George Marcus Honored at Deree Commencement Ceremony
George M. Marcus, the distinguished business leader and philanthropist who founded GM Marcus & Company in 1971, which later became Marcus and Millichap Company, as well as Essex Property Trust, Greater Bay Bancorp and Plaza Bank of Commerce, was awarded an honorary doctorate by Deree of the American College of Greece (ACG), at its commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 29, 2019.
