Philanthropist Members of the Month

Leadership 100 is honored to recognize Steve and Angela Zervoudis as our July Philanthropist Members of the Month, celebrating their lifetime of faithful stewardship, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Greek Orthodox Church and the Hellenic community.

For decades, Steve and Angela have embodied the values of Leadership 100 through their generosity, humility, and dedication to strengthening the ministries and institutions that preserve our Orthodox faith and Hellenic heritage. As devoted supporters of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and longtime Leadership 100 members, they have invested in initiatives that will serve future generations for years to come.

Earlier this summer, the couple received the 31st Phidippides Award, presented by the Greek American Educational Public Information System (GAEPIS) and Hellenic Public Radio Cosmos FM. The prestigious award recognizes individuals whose lives exemplify exceptional service to Hellenism, Orthodox Christianity, and the Greek American community.

During the presentation, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros praised Steve and Angela not only for their generosity but for the example they have set as a family, saying they "represent the best of our Hellenic and Orthodox Christian values."

Steve's journey reflects the classic immigrant story. Born on the island of Chios, he came to the United States with determination and faith, later building Galaxy General Contracting Corporation into one of New York's respected construction firms. Together, Steve and Angela have remained committed to giving back, supporting educational, cultural, charitable, and Church ministries that strengthen Orthodox Christianity across America.

Steve is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, recognizing his distinguished service to the Church and steadfast support of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Together, the Zervoudises have demonstrated that true philanthropy is not simply about giving—it is about faithful stewardship, servant leadership, and investing in the future of the Church.

Accepting the Phidippides Award, Angela offered a message that resonates deeply with Leadership 100's mission:

"The need for unity in this endeavor is as urgent as ever. We must continue to work together, supporting and embracing the efforts of all those dedicated to this noble cause."

Her words remind us that preserving our faith and heritage is a shared responsibility and one that Leadership 100 members embrace through their generosity and commitment.
