Leadership 100 Member Ordained to Diaconate

His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco with the newly ordained Deacon Justin Bosl at the ordination on Sunday, April 18, 2021.

The faithful from the Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church in Castro Valley, CA witnessed the ordination of Justin Bosl to the Holy Diaconate by His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos on Sunday, April 18, 2021. He and his wife, Annemarie, are fulfilled members of Leadership 100.

Also participating in the service were His Grace Bishop Ioannis of Phocaea (Metropolis Chancellor), Rev. Father Niko Bekris (Resurrection, Castro Valley); Rev. Father Thomas Zaferes (Ascension Cathedral, Oakland), Rev. Father Photios Dumont (Saint Demetrios, Seattle), and Rev. Father Panagiotis Sotiras (Saint Basil, Stockton).

Deacon Justin is a 2020 graduate of the Diaconate program at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. His spiritual formation into the Orthodox faith was through the Resurrection parish where he and his family have been active stewards since 2004. He previously served as Parish Council President, Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign and as a chanter at the parish. Deacon Justin is currently the Second Vice President of the Board of Directors for Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center. He also assists the Metropolis with various legal matters and is a key member of the Metropolis COVID-19 Parish Support Team.

Deacon Justin earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and is a partner in a law firm in Oakland, CA. He also earned a post-graduate Certificate from the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies in Cambridge, UK and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is currently studying towards a Master of Theology from the University of Balamand.

Deacon Justin is married to Deaconess Annemarie, and they are the parents to four children: Markella (17), Joseph (15), Gregory (13), and Natalia (12).
