Seleni Institute Meets Challenges
Seleni Institute of New York, along with its co-founder and Executive Chairwoman, Nitzia Logothetis, was presented with the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Award for Excellence at the Saturday Forum on February 15, 2014, at the 23rd Annual Leadership 100 Conference, for its innovative work in creating a new modality for the treatment of women and their families.
New Co-Chairmen for Leadership 100 Partners
The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund, Inc. named Justin K. Bozonelis and George T. Soterakis as new Co-Chairmen of the Leadership 100 Partners Program. They will succeed Michael N. Bapis, a member of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees, who completed a successful seven-year tenure.

The American Hellenic Council honored C. Dean Metropoulos at its 2014 Awards Gala, March 22, 2014, in Los Angeles. He is a member of Leadership 100 and Chairman and CEO of Metropoulos & Co., a boutique acquisition and management firm with offices in New York and Greenwich, Connecticut.
Leadership 100 Celebrates 30th Anniversary at Conference
The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund marked its 30th Anniversary at its 23rd Annual Conference, February 13-16, 2014 at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples in Naples, Florida. Some 400 members and their guests attended, according to Charles H. Cotros, the outgoing Chairman, who passed the torch of his office to George S. Tsandikos, Vice Chairman, at the Grand Gala on Saturday, February 16.
George S. Tsandikos Inaugurated as Chairman
George S. Tsandikos of New York, New York was inaugurated as the Chairman of Leadership 100 on February 15, 2014 at the Grand Gala of the 23rd Annual Leadership 100 Conference at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples in Naples, Florida. He served as Vice Chairman for the past two years under Charles H. Cotros, of Memphis, Tennessee, whose term was completed as Chairman but who remains a member of the Executive Committee.

In keeping with the theme of the Conference, “A Vision for the Future of Orthodoxy and Hellenism”, a Business Forum titled “A Vision for the Future of Business” has been scheduled from 4:00 to 5:30 pm on Friday, February 14, 2014, according to Charles. H. Cotros, Chairman of Leadership 100, in announcing the addition to the program.
Washington Membership Event
Leadership 100 members from the Washington, DC metropolitan area gathered on January 14, 2014 with prospective Leadership 100 members and guests for a private tour of the National Gallery of Art exhibit "Heaven and Earth: Art of Byzantium from Greek Collections." The event was organized by Mike Manatos, a member of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees.
George Tsunis Hearing
The United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee heard testimony from George Tsunis, a member of Leadership 100, to be US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway, on January 16, 2014. He was nominated to the post by President Barack Obama.
Leadership 100 To Celebrate 30th Anniversary At Conference
The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund will mark its 30th Anniversary at its 23rd Annual Conference, February 13-16, 2014 at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples in Naples, Florida, according to Charles H. Cotros, Chairman. Since its beginnings in 1984 by Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory along with its Founders, a small group of leading Greek Orthodox laymen, Leadership 100 has grown dramatically, principally in the last 15 years under the guidance of Archbishop Demetrios.
Campers Benefit For Third Year
Leadership 100 awarded the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries Camping Ministry program $270,000, for the third successive year, distributed at $30,000 for the Direct Archdiocesan District and each Metropolis. The primary purpose of the grant is to enable Greek Orthodox youth who do not have the financial means to participate in a summer camp program, in addition to programming, supplies, transportation, and youth protection training and background checks for staff members. The program was in full swing around the nation in the summer of 2013, making it possible for more than numerous young people to attend camp programs.
Fifth National Leadership 100 Sunday To Be Observed October 27th, 2013
Charles H. Cotros, Chairman of Leadership 100, has announced the fifth commemoration of National Leadership 100 Sunday, on October 27th. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Church of America will issue an Encyclical on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod designating the date, which is the Sunday following the Feast of Saint Iakovos, chosen as a tribute to Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory, the visionary Founder and namesake of the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund.
Hellenic College-Holy Cross Celebrates 75th Anniversary
Hellenic-College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology celebrated its 75th Anniversary Name Day Feast, Exaltation of the Holy Cross, with a four-day Jubilee September 12–15, 2013. The event focused on celebrating the history of the community while continuing to highlight the School's significance as, in the words of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America, “the heart and the mind of our Church in America." Helen A. Carlos, a member of Leadership 100, served as Chair of the 75th Anniversary observance and Christine Karavites served as Jubilee Chair.

John Georges Buys Louisiana's Oldest & Largest Daily Newspaper
John D. Georges, CEO of Georges Enterprises and the Georges Media Group and a member of Leadership 100 along with his wife, Dathel, recently purchased The Advocate, one of the nation’s oldest and largest local daily newspapers and digital media outlets. The Advocate, first published as a weekly in 1842, serves the Louisiana communities of Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette and surrounding parishes.
Ellis Island Medal Awarded
George S. Tsandikos, Vice Chairman of Leadership 100, and Argyris “RJ” Vassiliou, Treasurer, along with Leadership 100 members William C. Anton and John Psaras, were awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor at ceremonies conducted at Ellis Island on May 11, 2013. They join other outstanding members of Leadership 100 and of the Greek American Community who have been awarded the medal along with distinguished Americans from numerous ethnic backgrounds.
Alpha Omega Honors Philoptochos
Paulette Poulos, Executive Director of Leadership 100, addressed the Alpha Omega Council Lifetime Achievement Award Banquet on Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Boston, honoring both the National and Metropolis of Boston Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Societies. The program, at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, also acknowledged six recipients of the 2013 Peter Agris Memorial Journalism Scholarships. The Alpha Omega Council, which was founded in 1976 by the late Peter Agris, publisher of The Hellenic Chronicle, along with Hellenic American business, professional and academic leaders in Boston, promotes loyalty and patriotism to the United States while cultivating the ideals of Hellenism, along with support of philanthropic causes.

Arthur C. Anton Sr., a Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Leadership 100, was honored at the Hearts Warmed Gala at UMASS Lowell Inn and Conference Center on June 10, 2013, in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Anton’s Cleaners and its charitable work through Caring Partners, Inc.
Caras New Chairman Emeritus
Constantine G. Caras, the past Chairman of Leadership 100, became Chairman Emeritus, joining the Life-Time Founding Members and Chairmen Emeriti upon the passing of the beloved Andrew A. Athens on March 14, 2013. Athens, a revered Founder of Leadership 100, was Co-Chairman from the inception of the organization in 1984 to 1996.
