Executive Committee Approves $100,000 For Hurricane Response Fund
The Leadership 100 Executive Committee on September 5, 2017 unanimously approved emergency assistance to International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) for the Emergency Response Fund for Hurricanes with a grant of $100,000, in response to an appeal from His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Geron of America, which initially addressed Hurricane Harvey, but was extended to include Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Eleni Bousis Hosts Gala To Raise Funds For Cancer Research
Eleni Bousis, a member of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees, hosted the second annual Wings to Cure Gala for the Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation (HCRF), which she founded and chairs, on Oct. 14. The event attracted more than 600 guests and raised $600,000 at the Hilton Chicago to support innovative cutting-edge cancer research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.
Project Mexico Develops Home Building Program
Project Mexico & St. Innocent Orphanage has developed a sustainable Home Building Program with the support of a Leadership 100 grant of $63,735 in 2015. An Intern Development Coordinator educated and strengthened the 23 Home Building Interns in the scriptural importance of service to the needy in a cross-cultural missionary context, in the personal development and spiritual fortification necessary to lead and inspire Orthodox missionaries during their home building trips, and in mentoring others in an outreach and evangelistic environment.

George Sakellaris and Team Proteus were the winners of the 2017 Corfu Challenge, which ran from July 3 to 8. The event was exceptional because of the challenging sailing conditions for both the coastal race and windward leeward courses; racing in between Corfu and Albania was a photographer’s dream.
Small Parish Program, Funded For Three Years
Leadership 100 responded to the initiative of the Small Parish Subcommittee of the Finance Committee of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in 2015 by funding a three-year Small Parish Program to stimulate the growth of new and struggling parishes throughout the Archdiocese. Grants in 2015 and 2017 each supported four parishes with $200,000 and $155,000, respectively.
Center for Family Care to Host Conference
The Center for Family Care of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, in conjunction with the host parish of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church of Canonsburg, Pa., held its second Family Ministry Conference, “The Orthodox Family in a Changing World,” on September 20-23. The Center for Family Care and the Family Ministry Conferences are supported in part with grants from Leadership 100.
