Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine Resumes Construction at The World Trade Center
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, with the leadership of the Friends of St. Nicholas and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, visited the World Trade Center on August 3 to witness the resumption of construction of the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine, the only house of worship destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Hellenic College-Holy Cross Classes to Continue Online for Fall Semester
In a letter to the Hellenic College Holy Cross community, President George M. Cantonis announced that, in light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the campus will not reopen for the fall semester and all courses will continue to be taught online. “This decision was not made lightly,” he stressed. “Administrators and staff spent countless hours exploring ways to reopen the campus. Although there were many obstacles, the bottom line always came back to ensuring the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Our plan is to reopen the campus for the spring semester 2021 and we will be working diligently to ensure that this occurs.”

Since 2017, the Telos Project has been endeavoring to serve and nourish young adults in the Orthodox Church, empowered by its ties with HCHC’s Office of Vocation of Ministry and the Lilly Foundation. Leadership 100 Members Spearhead Building of Waterfront Senior Housing Complex
Judge Marina Corodemus, a longtime member of Leadership 100 and St. Demetrios Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, is leading a project to build the St. Demetrios Senior Housing, a waterfront complex overlooking the Raritan River across from the church. The Leadership 100 Board of Trustees, in a historic vote, approved a total of $8.2 million in grants, including a grant of $5 million toward the St. Nicholas National Shrine and $3,174,158 million in additional grants, bringing the total of grants distributed since the founding of Leadership 100 to $60 million.

Mike Manatos Wins DC’s Dancing with the Stars Gala
Mike Manatos, a member of the Leadership 100 Executive Committee, won the DC Dancing with the Stars competition on November 9. Manatos won by raising $85,000 from 251 supporters across the country for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, of which he became Chairman of the Board in September. Mike’s wife, Laura, President of Laura Evans Media, was emcee of the event.
