Registration for Fanari Summer Camp Opens
The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago opened registration on March 23, 2021 and announced on March 12, 2021 the dates of sessions for Fanari Summer Camp, which will take place in person after last year’s cancellation caused by COVID-19.
Leadership 100 Presents Grants Payment to Archbishop Elpidophoros
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America received Paulette Poulos, Executive Director, who presented on behalf of Leadership 100 Chairman, Argyris Vassiliou, a check in the amount of $774,600 which represents the final payment for the 2021 Archdiocese grants.

Leadership 100 Approves $6.2 Million In New Grants And Prior Year Commitments
The Leadership 100 Executive Committee, meeting virtually on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, approved $6,182,500 in new grants and prior year commitments. New grants approved totaled $1,887,100 and prior year grant commitments totaled $4,295,400
30th Annual Leadership 100 Conference Concludes with a Resounding Musical Tribute to Greece
The 30th Annual Leadership 100 Conference, a virtual event, which ran February 17-19, 2021, concluded with a resounding musical program, Greek Music for the Greek Revolution, 1821-2021, that was applauded by hundreds of participants, according to Argyris Vassiliou, Leadership 100 Chairman.
Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church & National Shrine
As you will see from the pictures in this issue, the walls of Saint Nicholas are beginning to glow! We have arrived at the beginning of the installation of the curtain wall and the first marble siding (lower right) that has come all the way from Greece and the same vein of Pentelic marble that was used to construct the Parthenon 2500 years ago. You will note the brightness of the building, which is the full complement of the lighting that will illuminate this marble from within and create the signature glow of our National Shrine.

Leadership 100 made the first payment of $250,000 of the $1 million contribution to the Archdiocese Clergy Pension Fund in January of 2021.

HC/HC Receives Two Million Euros from Greek Government
President George M. Cantonis announced that Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology has received a restricted gift of two million euros ($2,388,000) from the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America that was given to them by the government of Greece for HCHC.
HC/HC Classes to Continue Online for Spring Semester
In a letter to the Hellenic College/Holy Cross community, President George M. Cantonis announced that, considering the growing COVID-19 pandemic, the campus will not reopen for the spring semester and all courses will continue to be taught remotely.

Greek American Judoka Qualifies for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago congratulates Greek American judoka, Nefeli Papadakis for qualifying to represent Team USA at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo! Papadakis grew up in Gurnee, Illinois and is the daughter of Steve and Lilibeth Papadakis. She has been competing in judo since she was five years old.

30th Annual Leadership 100 Conference in 2021 To be Replaced with Virtual Annual Meeting
The 30th Annual Leadership 100 Conference, scheduled for February 4-7, 2021 at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona, has been postponed and will be replaced by a Virtual Annual Meeting during the same period. Our Chairman, Argyris Vassiliou, stated: “This unfortunate action was taken due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding air travel and large gatherings.”
